A.M.
2:33-Went to bed.
6:43- woke up and watched CNN and FOX News
7:13-power went out
7:15 went back to sleep.

P.M.

12:33-Woke up and ate a bowl of Cheerios.
3:15 went to room and started listening to music with cd player. Started clipping out Mardi Gras pictures from newspaper.
3:38-batteries went out.
3:47-second set of batteries went out.
3:51-helicopters flew over head.
4:00-laid in bed.
4:19-started reading japanese learning material.
4:25-took practice quiz. Got 13 out of 15.
4:25-Chapter 2
4:48-took quiz 2 and aced it.
6:39-POWER RESTORED.

Ah yesterday....yesterday....oi
I don't have much to say but this. To those who have heard Kayne said on t.v. that Bush doesn't care about black people was really really ignorant. If Bush didn't care about black people, he would of got rid of every last black person on his staff and elsewhere. This man in New Orleans fired all of the white workers and replaced them with black employees. Powell and Rice are examples of how blacks can be successful if they put forth the effort.

To the NAACP, who said that the rescue took too long because of the racial thing. I don't think that it was a race problem, since in the crowds and crowds of black people were whites and so on. There are other races living in the U.S. also, so to say that it was about the colored of the skin was definately ignorant. There is poverty in every country of the world, and it's something that can't be helped.

If the NAACP is all about helping black people, what about the other colored people like latinos and indians and so on. They might not be browned skinned but they are colored. I also think that the NAACP shouldn't be called the National Association for the Advancement of Colored people anymore. It should be called the National Advancement for the Advancement of all People, so it wouldn't have to be a one race based group.

This is not white america or black america, nor latino america and asian america. This is the United States of America, where people who can't do one thing in their country come here to accomplish their dream not the american dream.

Also, I think that the people who are evacuated New Orleans shouldn't be called refugees. How can you call american people refugess, when they are not from another country? Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

I actually want to challenge the government, to help make New Orleans well guarded so that this will never happen again.

This is not America.
This is not DEFINATELY NOT America.

I really think that the government cares less about the poor. Even my grandmother, before she left this state lived in poverty. She is in a better place living in California and is sounding well also.

We cannot control nature, and what happened last week was like a wake up call to the people of the United States. To me, it was a sign for New Orleans with all that voodoo crap they be doing down there. The evil must be washed away, and start all over again. I also think if a hurricane is in the Gulf, that all the coastal cities should of automatically been evacuated.

Also, all the damn media shouldn't all be concentrated in New Orleans, but in all the affected areas. Showing all that coverage from New Orleans can cause other cities to become outraged.

Alright, it's been a week today since that badass hurricane unleashed her fury upon the Gulf Coast. Days after the evacuation, the Orleanians had started to make their move. I went into Wal-Mart, and I suddenly became scared and was ready go to. All the damn food was almost gone (the cheap good looking ones) and the people started to scare me. Long lines at gas stations that have cheap gas, so I went paid 2.99 per gallon for gas.

Now they are giving away FREE food stamps to anyone. The more people on your list, the more money you get. So basically, if you have seven people on your list you get like 700+ dollars in a voucher. What also I don't find fair with the gas, is when people fill up their gas cans while pumping gas. I mean damn, we are all in this together and this is how you treat other people. I saw a vehicle with at least 6-8 giant gas cans on top of their truck and that pissed me off.

I fear how badly the crime will increasse in this city. The state as off 2004 was the second most dangerouse state of U.S., and we might jump to number 1 in the year 2005. Ever since those people came here, there was a carjacking at a Super Wal-mart, and a robbery at another. The person who was carjacked got his/her face cut. If the people who have no money and clothing, only thing you can do is be patience.

These people need to pray for patience. I know it will take time, but the government (still don't like em) is trying to do the best they can. I actually came up with 2 songs about what happened.

It's a shame for the U.S. government, that when other countries are in natural they go to their aid ASAP. In this situation, they can't even get food and water to their own people. Some people might think that that's what they get for not leaving the city when they said Get out now, but there are people who can't afford to. I mean damn, the pooriest of the poor are suffering and they are taking their time to get to them.

We pay taxes, and that isn't enough to help the people who are in deperate need of goods? Totally unacceptable. If they knew this was gonna happen, they should of had tons and tons and tons of food on reserved just incase something like this would happen. Yes some of this does deal with class and race, but you should help all people regardless of any race.

Holy crap! Look at the time! I need to get ready for work.

I know everyone has seen and read news about Katrina, and I , myself have been heartbroken about this. I actually cried myself to sleep this morning from all the news. Sometimes I think that that if the government did more about the levees to make them higher, the heart of southern hospitality could of been spared a bit. I fear the states next yrs budget, since millions of dollars have been lost within one day.

Though I am black, it embarrasses me to see my own people looting electronics and firearms. I can understand food and water, but clothes and shoes....really unacceptable. Like our governor said she declared war against the looters. If I was in the military, I would of been ready to arm and kill if I must. The lawlessness must be stopped, because this is getting ridiculous. People are risking their lives to save them and fire back is totally ungrateful.

*thinks evily* "I would of saved the needy and leave the ungrateful behind. If they don't appreciate the help then let them die and forget them."

Also, I am happy to see other countries coming to the aid of the victims of Katrina. I'm going to write to my penpal in Japan and send her newspaper clippings of the damage. I will also upload the pictures I have taken from the aftermath.

Since this is all I have to say for now...I will put my log from Monday.
